Dr. Jane Purvis – Recipient of the CRA Master Award

I am deeply honoured to receive the 2026 Canadian Rheumatology Association (CRA) Master Award. As a community rheumatologist, my career has been grounded in providing accessible, patient-centred care across a range of settings, from multidisciplinary clinics to smaller and rural communities. I have also been actively involved in physician advocacy, working with the Ontario Rheumatology Association, the Ontario Medical Association and other organizations to engage government and advance policies that improve access to care for patients with rheumatic disease. This award reflects the mentorship, collaboration, and shared commitment within our community. I remain passionate about strengthening rheumatology, creating a sustainable medical system, and ensuring patients receive high-quality care.
